Best LinkedIn DM Automation Tools in 2026: 12 Tools Compared by Use Case
Ruz, Founder LeadShark · Oct 31, 2026 · 19 min read
The short answer: LeadShark is the best LinkedIn DM automation tool if your posts get comments. It replies to every commenter, sends them your resource by DM in under 10 minutes on average, connects with the ones outside your network and follows up with the ones who go quiet. Plans start at $39/mo with a 7-day free trial, no card. If you need cold outreach to a list instead, pick Expandi for branching sequences, HeyReach for agencies running many sender accounts, Dripify for LinkedIn plus email on a budget, Waalaxy for a low-cost start in outbound, or WaLead if you sell into Spain.
I build LeadShark, so read this knowing that. Every other tool's details below come from its own public website, checked on October 31, 2026. Prices change, so click through before you buy. Spotted something out of date? Tell us.
Two kinds of LinkedIn DM automation
Most "best LinkedIn DM automation tools" lists rank a comment-to-DM tool next to a cold sequencer as if they did the same job. They don't.
- Inbound (triggered) DMs. Someone comments on your post, often a keyword like GUIDE, and the tool replies and sends them the resource they asked for. They expect your message, so they open it.
- Outbound (cold) sequences. You upload a list. The tool sends connection requests and a series of follow-up messages to people who never engaged with you.
Pick the category before you pick the tool. If your growth comes from content, a sequencer is the wrong tool however good it is. If you run cold outbound, a comment-to-DM tool won't help you reach strangers. Plenty of teams run both. More on what's worth automating in how to automate LinkedIn messages.

How we picked
We started from the tools that show up when people search for LinkedIn DM automation, comment to DM tools and LinkedIn automation tools, then kept the ones that actually send LinkedIn DMs or feed them. For each tool we checked:
- The trigger. Does a message go to someone who asked for it (a comment, a keyword) or to someone on a list?
- Reach. Can it message people you aren't connected to, and how?
- Follow-up. Can it follow up, and does it stop when someone replies?
- Control. Can you set your own daily limits and pacing?
- Where the lead ends up. Email capture, CRM sync, webhooks, an API or an MCP for your AI assistant.
- Price and trial, taken from each vendor's own pricing page on October 31, 2026.
On October 31, 2026 we opened each vendor's own pricing or product page and saved the screenshot under that entry.
We didn't rank on review scores or claims we couldn't check on the vendor's own site. LinkedIn's User Agreement restricts third-party automation, so no tool on this list can promise zero risk to your account. What you control is who you message, how many and how fast.
Inbound: the best comment-to-DM tools
1. LeadShark: best for turning post comments into leads
LeadShark is lead magnet automation for LinkedIn. You post a resource and ask people to comment. LeadShark replies under each comment and sends the resource by DM, in under 10 minutes on average, while your post is still climbing.
What it does better than anything else on this list:
- No comment goes unanswered. Trigger on one or more keywords, or leave the keyword empty and LeadShark answers every comment on the post.
- Commenters outside your network get it too. On every plan, LeadShark replies to the comment, sends a connection request and delivers the DM as soon as they accept. On Apex it can DM them straight away, without waiting.
- Follow-ups that only go to people who didn't reply, with an ideal customer filter, so the people worth a second message get one and nobody else does.
- It works on the posts you already have. Automate a live post, a scheduled post or your next one. Already replied to some comments by hand? It skips the ones you answered.
- Leads leave LinkedIn with you. Tracked links show who clicked, email-gated lead and quiz pages capture the email, leads sync to Kit and Beehiiv, export to CSV or Google Sheets, and reach your CRM through webhooks.
- A leads-first inbox. Leadbox puts your hottest leads on top, with heat-scored Signals and AI reply drafts in your voice. You write the reply and DM templates yourself, so the automated messages still sound like you.
- Built for growth past one post. Schedule posts with the automation already attached, add auto-reposts, run Company Pages and multiple accounts, and work from Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor through the LeadShark MCP.
- Pacing you control. Set your own limit of 0 to 250 DMs a day (150 recommended max), with warm-up mode, off-hours, human-like pacing and safety cooldowns.
Proof: 3M comments captured, 27K+ automations created and 10M+ LinkedIn actions behind the safety limits. Live since September 2024.
How it connects: you connect your profile once with our Chrome extension. After that LeadShark runs in the cloud, so automations keep working with your laptop closed.
Pricing (Oct 31, 2026):
- Pro: $39/mo ($390/yr). Up to 10 running automations, auto-DM and reply to commenters, 1 follow-up DM, scheduling, click tracking, webhooks and the REST API.
- Pro+: $59/mo ($590/yr). 100 automations, 2 follow-ups, auto-like every comment, separate DMs for people who repost, 100 email-gated pages, Company Page posting and the Automation + Discover MCP.
- Apex: $119/mo ($1,190/yr). Unlimited automations, DMs to commenters you aren't connected with, Company Page auto-replies, Sales Navigator support and the full Apex MCP, where your AI agent runs your LinkedIn for you.
- LeadShark Teams: one bill for 3+ accounts, from $30 per account a month in any mix of plans.
Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial, no card. When a trial ends, running automations pause until you pick a plan. See pricing.

Not built for: cold sequences to lists. Every DM LeadShark sends goes to someone who engaged with your post. If you need outbound too, pair it with a sequencer from the list below.

2. Reachium: best for outbound and content in one platform
Reachium is for teams that want outbound sequences, content and lead magnet campaigns in one place, instead of a comment-to-DM tool plus a separate sequencer. It is a fit when cold outreach is the main motion and you still want a lead magnet reply on the same bill.
What it does well is breadth. The site lists connection and message sequences, an AI agent, a unified inbox, a lead database, content generation and rented LinkedIn accounts. It also runs lead magnet campaigns that reply to commenters and deliver a resource by DM. Volume pricing drops the per-account rate at 10, 50 and 100 accounts. The page says cancel anytime and no long-term contract.
Pricing (Oct 31, 2026): $99 per account a month billed monthly. Annual billing is $79 per account a month ($950/yr). At 10 accounts the annual rate drops to $63 per account.
Watch out for: no free trial listed on the pricing page. The $79 figure is the annual rate; monthly billing is $99 per account.
Compared with LeadShark: LeadShark is built for the post-to-lead workflow end to end and starts at $39/mo with a 7-day free trial and no card. Reachium is the broader outbound-plus-content platform.

3. Taplio: best for writing posts, with auto-DM on the top plan
Taplio is for people whose main problem is writing and posting on LinkedIn every week, who may later want DMs attached to that content. It is a content suite first, not a comment-to-DM specialist.
What it does well: AI writing, a viral post library, scheduling, analytics, an engagement feed and an MCP. On Growth it can auto-reply to comments on your posts, with an optional trigger word. Growth watches each post for 2 days after publishing and Pro for 90 days. Auto-DMs to people who like or comment, automated connection requests and the 250M+ lead finder sit on Pro. The trial is 7 days with Pro features.
Pricing (Oct 31, 2026): Starter $39/mo, Growth $69/mo, Pro $199/mo.
Watch out for: auto-DMs, automated connection requests and the lead finder start on Pro at $199/mo. Growth's comment watch window is 2 days after publishing.
Compared with LeadShark: comment-to-DM is on every LeadShark plan from $39/mo. On Taplio, auto-DM starts at $199/mo. Full breakdown: Taplio vs LeadShark.

Before the DM: comment automation
4. Extrovert: best for warming up prospects with comments and DMs you approve
Extrovert is for sellers who already have a defined list of prospects and want those people to see their name on LinkedIn before the first pitch. It is a warm-up tool, not a way to answer comments on your own posts.
What it does well: you pick the prospects and topics, it ranks their posts and drafts comments and DMs in your voice. You can review each draft, approve them in bulk or let a campaign run on its own. It also works from Claude or ChatGPT through an MCP. Teammates who do not need a LinkedIn account are free. You can add extra prospects and topics if the included amounts are not enough.
Pricing (Oct 31, 2026): $49 per seat a month billed monthly, or $40.83 per seat a month billed annually ($490/yr). Seats cost less as your team grows. Trial is 10 days, no card.
Watch out for: each seat includes 250 tracked prospects, 1 topic and 300 Credits a month. Extra packs are +250 prospects for $20/mo and +2 topics for $15/mo.
Compared with LeadShark: Extrovert comments on other people's posts to warm up prospects you picked. LeadShark answers the people who comment on your own posts and sends them your resource by DM. Many teams use one for each job.

5. Commentify: best for warming up prospects before you message them
Commentify is for people who want to show up in a buyer's feed before they send a message. Use it when the gap is visibility on other people's posts, not delivery of your own lead magnet.
What it does well: its AI agent finds relevant posts on LinkedIn and comments on them in your voice. You can review every comment or let it run on its own. Starter monitors up to 10 profiles. Pro raises that to 30 and adds targeting by geography, author titles and engagement. A $99 bundle adds its posting agent. Trial is 5 days.
Pricing (Oct 31, 2026): Starter $39/mo (up to 900 comments a month), Pro $59/mo (up to 2,400 comments a month), or $99/mo bundled with the posting agent.
Watch out for: Commentify does not send DMs. Starter is capped at 900 comments a month across the profiles you monitor.
Works with LeadShark: Commentify gets you seen on other people's posts. LeadShark turns the comments on your own posts into leads.

Outbound: the best LinkedIn sequence tools
These tools message people from a list. They're the right choice when cold outreach is your motion. Expect connection-request limits to set your weekly ceiling.
6. Expandi: best for branching if/then sequences
Expandi is for SDR and agency teams that run cold outreach from a list and need the sequence to branch on what each prospect does. Pick it when if/then logic matters more than a comment trigger.
What it does well: cloud-based LinkedIn outreach with Smart Campaigns that branch, plus email follow-ups in the same sequence. The site lists a dedicated country-based IP, profile auto warm-up and daily limit ranges you set for connections, messages, InMails and event invites. It has an MCP. You start slowly in warm-up and raise limits as the account settles. Custom agency plans are on request for 10+ teams.
Pricing (Oct 31, 2026): Business is $99/mo per account, or $79/mo billed annually.
Watch out for: the 7-day trial is full-feature, then you are charged for the billing period you picked unless you cancel first. Billing is per LinkedIn account.

7. HeyReach: best for agencies with many sender accounts
HeyReach is for agencies and sales teams that run outreach across many LinkedIn sender accounts and want one inbox and one bill. Pick it when the number of senders is the constraint, not the number of teammates.
What it does well: unlimited campaigns, a unified inbox across accounts, workspaces for clients, an API, webhooks and an MCP. Email runs through native Instantly and Smartlead integrations. Teammates, VAs and clients can be added without a per-user fee. You pay for senders, or for a bundle of senders on Agency and Unlimited.
Pricing (Oct 31, 2026): Growth $79/mo per sender. Agency $999/mo for 25 senders. Unlimited $2,999/mo. There is a free trial, with a 30-day trial on request for the Agency and Unlimited plans.
Watch out for: you are charged per LinkedIn sender, not per teammate. Growth includes 100 enrichment credits per sender.

8. Dripify: best for LinkedIn plus email sequences
Dripify is for founders and sellers who want LinkedIn and email in one drip campaign at a mid-range price, without buying a separate cold-email tool. It is a sequencer, so the list you upload is the trigger.
What it does well: cloud-based campaigns that mix connection requests, messages, InMails, profile views and email steps. Every paid plan includes an email finder (100 credits a month; a credit is used only when an address is found and verified), a dedicated inbox, HubSpot, an open API and an MCP. The 7-day trial needs no card, unlocks Advanced features and does not auto-charge when it ends.
Pricing (Oct 31, 2026): Pro $79/mo per user ($59 billed annually), Advanced $99/mo ($79 billed annually).
Watch out for: daily activity is up to 75 connection requests and 100+ messages, which you set within those ranges. The 100 email-finder credits are a lookup cap, not a send cap, and they do not roll over.

9. Waalaxy: best for a low-cost start in outbound
Waalaxy is for people testing outbound on a budget who want a set of pre-built LinkedIn sequences. It is a starting sequencer, not a comment-to-DM tool.
What it does well: pre-built LinkedIn outreach sequences with automated follow-ups and CRM sync. Cold email sits on the Business plan. An optional Inbox add-on is €20/mo. The trial is 14 days. Monthly and yearly prices are listed separately, so you can start without an annual term if you are still testing volume before you pick a higher-priced sequencer.
Pricing (Oct 31, 2026): Pro €39, Advanced €99, Business €139 per user a month billed monthly (€19 / €49 / €69 billed yearly).
Watch out for: Pro includes 300 invites a month. Advanced and Business raise that to 800 invites a month.

10. La Growth Machine: best for LinkedIn, email and calls together
La Growth Machine is for teams whose outreach already spans LinkedIn and email, and who want calls in the same sequence on Pro. Pick it when one identity should run several channels, not when you only need comment-to-DM.
What it does well: multichannel sequences across LinkedIn and email (plus calls on Pro), with voice messages, waterfall email enrichment, a unified inbox and an MCP. Pro can import post likers and commenters as intent data. You are billed per identity: a profile that runs campaigns. Answering replies does not need its own identity. Pro can connect up to 5 sending emails per identity.
Pricing (Oct 31, 2026): Basic €60, Pro €120 per identity a month billed monthly (€50 / €100 billed yearly). Trial is 14 days.
Watch out for: you are billed per identity. The 14-day trial includes only 1 identity. Basic allows up to 3 identities.

11. SBL.so: best for an AI SDR that replies for you
SBL.so is for teams that want an AI SDR to find leads, run outreach, reply and book meetings, without hiring a person for that queue. Pick it when you are fine with outreach running on dedicated SDR profiles rather than your own LinkedIn.
What it does well: LinkedIn and WhatsApp outreach, automatic replies, meeting booking, and signals such as comments and reactions on posts. Starter includes 2 outreach seats, 1,000 ICP-matched leads a month and 2 team members. Pro includes 4 seats and 2,000 leads. Extra seats are $39/mo. Trial is 7 days, no card.
Pricing (Oct 31, 2026): Starter $99/mo, Pro $189/mo.
Watch out for: outreach runs on dedicated SDR profiles (hired ones start at $65/mo), so your own account isn't the one sending at scale.

12. WaLead: best for outbound into Spain
WaLead is for agencies, sales teams and GTM operators who sell into Spain and want LinkedIn sequences, enrichment and a Spanish B2B database on one bill. The site ships in English and Spanish. Listed prices are in EUR and billed monthly.
What it does well is LinkedIn-only prospecting plus data in one plan. You import leads from a LinkedIn or Sales Navigator search, a CSV, Google Sheets, or its own tables: 16M+ B2B contacts in Spain and 55M companies worldwide. AI agents (Screener, Scorer, Prospector, Closer) filter for ICP fit and write 1-to-1 messages. A Health Score, dedicated proxy, configurable daily limits and time windows sit on each sender. Team seats are free. Credits pay for emails, mobile numbers and AI runs, not for invitations or messages. Signup includes 1,000 free credits and no card. Support is in English and Spanish.
Pricing (Oct 31, 2026): one monthly plan from €65/mo plus tax, for 1 LinkedIn sender and 1,000 data credits. Extra senders are +€50/mo each. Extra 1,000-credit packs are +€50/mo. The pricing page labels this as monthly billing. No yearly price is listed.
Watch out for: WaLead does not send cold email, each sender is capped at 800 invitations a month, and listed prices exclude tax.

FAQ
What is the best LinkedIn DM automation tool in 2026?
It depends on who you're messaging. For people who comment on your posts, LeadShark is the best pick: it replies to every commenter, sends the resource by DM in under 10 minutes on average, connects with commenters outside your network and follows up, from $39/mo with a 7-day free trial and no card. For cold outreach to a list, Expandi, HeyReach and Dripify are the strongest sequencers.
Can you automate LinkedIn DMs?
Yes, with a third-party tool. LinkedIn has no built-in setting that sends DMs automatically. A comment-to-DM tool like LeadShark sends a DM when someone comments on your post, and an outbound tool sends messages to a list you upload.
What is the difference between comment-to-DM and outbound DM automation?
Comment-to-DM sends a message to someone who asked for it by commenting on your post, so they expect it. Outbound automation sends connection requests and messages to people on a list who never engaged with you. Comment-to-DM grows leads from your content. Outbound reaches people who haven't seen it.
Can LinkedIn DM automation reach people you aren't connected to?
A normal LinkedIn DM only reaches 1st-degree connections. LeadShark sends commenters a connection request and delivers the DM once they accept, on every plan. On Apex it can DM them without waiting. Outbound tools reach non-connections through connection requests, and some support InMail.
How many LinkedIn DMs can you automate per day?
It depends on the tool and your account. In LeadShark you set your own limit from 0 to 250 DMs a day, and we recommend a maximum of 150, with warm-up mode for newer accounts. Some tools use a fixed cap instead.
How much do LinkedIn DM automation tools cost?
As of October 31, 2026, comment-to-DM tools start around $39 a month (LeadShark Pro is $39/mo). Outbound tools typically run €39 to $99 per seat a month. Agency plans for many sender accounts run from several hundred dollars a month.
