LeadMagnetPilot vs LeadShark: Which LinkedIn Lead Magnet Tool?
Updated Oct 11, 2026
LeadMagnetPilot vs LeadShark: two comment-to-DM tools for LinkedIn. Price, lead caps, commenters you're not connected to, tracking and who should pick which.
The 30-second answer
LeadMagnetPilot and LeadShark do the same core job. Someone comments your keyword on a LinkedIn post, gets a reply, and gets your lead magnet in their DMs.
LeadMagnetPilot is made by PostHero, a LinkedIn content tool. It accepts incoming connection requests, delivers your resource and sends timed follow-ups. Plans cap how many leads it tracks and how many campaigns you can run.
LeadShark goes further after the comment. It sends connection requests to commenters you're not connected to, tracks who clicked your link, and can collect emails before the download.
Pick LeadMagnetPilot if you already write with PostHero or want timed follow-up sequences. Pick LeadShark if many of your commenters are outside your network, or you want to know who clicked and get their email.
I'm Ruz and I built LeadShark, so keep that in mind. LeadMagnetPilot's facts below come from its own site and PostHero's pages and docs as of Oct 11, 2026.

The big differences
Commenters you're not connected to
On a good lead magnet post, a lot of comments come from people outside your network. LeadMagnetPilot DMs your existing connections. For everyone else, its FAQ says it replies to the comment and asks them to send you a connection request. It then accepts those requests on its own. Its site doesn't say if it sends requests itself.
LeadShark sends the connection request for you on every plan and delivers the resource once they accept. The commenter doesn't have to do anything else. On Apex you can skip the wait and DM non-connections directly.
Price and plan caps
Both start at $39 a month and both have a 7-day free trial. The difference is in what $39 gets you.
LeadMagnetPilot's Beginner plan tracks 50 leads, runs one lead magnet campaign at a time, and has no follow-ups or webhooks. Pro at $59 tracks 100 leads and runs three campaigns. Maestro at $99 removes the caps. Its site doesn't say whether the lead count resets each month.
LeadShark's Pro is $39 with 10 running automations, Pro+ is $59 with 100, and Apex is $119 with unlimited. Every plan lets you set your own daily DM limit. If you need LeadMagnetPilot's top plan, it's $20 a month cheaper than Apex.
On yearly billing LeadMagnetPilot gives 2 months free, and LeadShark saves 17%. PostHero's pages mention a 30-day money-back guarantee, while its terms say refund requests must come within 14 days. Check before you pay.
What happens after the DM
LeadShark sends your link as a short link, so you see who actually clicked. You can put the resource behind an email-gated page (Pro+), sync emails to Kit or Beehiiv, send follow-ups based on intent (say, a nudge to people who clicked), and push leads out with webhooks or CSV export. It also works with company pages. I didn't find click tracking, email capture or company page support for lead magnets on LeadMagnetPilot's site.
LeadMagnetPilot shows conversion rates, DM open rates and follow-up stats, and lets you export data. On Pro and up it sends follow-up sequences with delays you choose, like day 3 and day 7. It also sends leads to HubSpot, Salesforce or Zapier through webhooks on its higher plans.
Daily limits and safety
LeadMagnetPilot says it uses rate limits and natural delays. I didn't find a daily number on its site.
On LeadShark you set your own daily DM limit, anywhere from 5 to 250 a day, on every plan. We recommend 150 at most. Actions are paced like a human, with daily limits learned from 10M+ real LinkedIn actions and a quiet window at night. We only DM people who commented and asked, and the messages are templates you write, not AI.
LinkedIn can restrict any automated account, whichever tool you use. No tool can honestly promise otherwise.
How it connects
LeadMagnetPilot's site doesn't say how it connects to LinkedIn. PostHero's API docs say lead magnets run on a separate LinkedIn "outreach account" connection, not the account you post with.
LeadShark runs in the cloud. You use our Chrome extension once at the start to connect, and never again. There's no extension to keep open.
AI and MCP
LeadShark's Automation and Discover MCPs (Pro+) and Apex MCP let an AI assistant work with your automations. PostHero's MCP has nine tools, all for posts and analytics, not lead magnets. PostHero does have a REST API for lead magnets, but it needs the separate API plan on top of Pro.
When LeadMagnetPilot is the better pick
- You already use PostHero to write and schedule posts and want the lead magnet in the same place.
- You want timed follow-up sequences that go out on set days after the first DM.
- You want comment replies only or lead capture only, with no DMs. Its API lists both as separate workflow types.
- You run many campaigns and Maestro's $99 for unlimited fits your budget better than Apex.
Those are real reasons, and LeadMagnetPilot handles them well. If most of your commenters are already connected to you, it covers the core job.

FAQ
Is LeadMagnetPilot a LeadShark alternative?
Yes. Both watch your LinkedIn posts for a keyword, reply to the comment and DM your lead magnet. LeadMagnetPilot is made by PostHero and pairs well with its post writing tools. LeadShark adds click tracking, email capture and a way to reach commenters you're not connected to.
Is LeadMagnetPilot cheaper than LeadShark?
At the entry level, no. Both start at $39 a month. LeadMagnetPilot's Beginner plan tracks 50 leads with one active campaign and no follow-ups. At the top, LeadMagnetPilot's Maestro is $99 a month and LeadShark's Apex is $119.
Does LeadMagnetPilot DM commenters I'm not connected to?
Its FAQ says it replies to those commenters and asks them to send you a connection request. It accepts the request automatically. LeadShark sends the connection request for you on every plan and delivers once they accept, and Apex DMs non-connections directly.
Do both have a free trial?
Yes, 7 days each. LeadShark needs no card. LeadMagnetPilot's site doesn't say whether it needs one. PostHero's pages mention a 30-day money-back guarantee, while its terms say refund requests must come within 14 days of purchase.
Can I use LeadMagnetPilot and LeadShark together?
Not on the same LinkedIn post or account. Two tools replying to the same comments would send people two DMs. Pick one per account.
Where is LeadShark based?
